National Post Talks Sweetpea's & Canada Blooms

We are absolutely thrilled to be featured in an article written by Peter Kuitenbrouwer in The National Post. Canada Blooms has proven to be a great success and we are so thankful that we were able to be a part of it all. It took a lot of hard work but everything has paid off and we couldn't be happier with the results. Our floral display featured a twelve foot tall magnolia tree covered in buds which will soon become luscious pink blooms. Perched on the tree you will find dozens of origami paper cranes. As a backdrop we created a wall covered in aspidistra leaves to truly give our space a green feeling. Coming out of the wall were copious amounts of origami dragonflies bursting into flight. We used an antique urn to do our featured arrangement which included Protea, Craspedia and pink orichids. And finally, the base of our display was a bed of Heuchera nestled in moss and surrounded by an antique barn borad frame.

Again, another thanks for all of your support and to  Peter from the National Post.

"The next display, by Sweetpea's, a florist on Roncesvalles Avenue, seemed to attract the most gawkers: their installation features a magnolia branch in bud peppered with dozens of peach-coloured origami swans." -Peter Kuitenbrouwer, The National Post
